Stuffel Bitter Gourd/Karela/Haagakaayi

 
 

 

 






 

Karela stuffed fry:

 

Ingredients: 

Karela- tender ones around 10

Onion- chopped Finely-1

Dry chillies-7

Dry coconut-1/2 cups

roasted gram dal- pappu-2 tbspn

dhaniya-1 tbspn

ginger garlic paste-1/2 tspn

jaggery-1 tspn

tamarind pulp-1tbspn

Salt- To taste

Oil-3 tbspn

 

 Method:

  • Cut Bittergourd in to half. Take out the seeds inside. boil in tamarind and jaggery water until it becomes little soft for 7 mins.
  • Grind all the other ingredients and make a coarse paste.
  • In an Pan, Add some oil. Add chopped onion and fry until it becomes transluscent.Add ginger garlic paste. 
  • Add te grounded masala and fry for 2 mins
  • Stuff this mixture in karela
  • In a separate pan, add 2tbspn oil. Arrange stuffed karelas and cook closing the lid in medium flame for 10 mins.
  • After 5 mins turn it and cook for 2 mins.

Karely stuffed goes very well with Hot rice and ghee and it is extremely healthy vegetable.
